Cosplay for those of you who don't know what it is, is when fans of (most commonly) anime/manga/video game characters, dress up as those characters and get together with other cosplayers and just geek out.
I've been cosplaying since 2007.
I'm not very good at all, but it's just something I liked to do, and also enjoyed keeping from my small town friends, because it's looked down upon sometimes. But I did it with one of my best friends who went to a neighboring school of mine.
But me and that friend are no longer friends unfortunately. Stupid stuff that just wasn't needed, so she broke off our friendship, whatever.
But since me and her no longer have this huge thing in common, and I'm in college and growing up, and have interests in things bigger than just myself. So I think I'm done cosplaying. D:
I need to save up money for traveling and helping little Kenyan babies and college!!! D:
So I think I'm going to start sorting through all my cosplay and manga and anime merch when I get home next week and sell them on the interwebs. :/
Sad. But life goes on. So if any of my faithful followers have any interests in buying my shit, lemme know! :D

ReplyDeleteWhy everyone quitting?! I'm in college and I still do it. It's what keeps me sane... You don't need a new cosplay every year. Find someone you like to do and stick to them. Then you only need money for hotel and badge every year and all is good!!
Meeeh! I know. :/ But I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. And I always liked taking cosplay pictures of people more than cosplaying myself. But maybe next year I'll go to Kcon again and just run around squeeling to myself. lol. But I'm definitely going to sell some of my manga and merch, because I have waaaay too much. HAhaha.
ReplyDeleteI'm not against any of it, just never got into it or really tried it. Sounds like it would be fun, but I'm super broke and your one of the few people that I know that would be interested in Cosplay, so if I bought it from you.. it would be sort of redundant. haha.
