Wow, it's been a long time.

Lets see. Well...life hasn't changed much since last time I blogged. I don't think. lol.

Well, a boy in the grade younger than me died recently. He went in for jaw surgery, because he was born with a cleft pallet. And the surgeon accidentally cut one of his main arteries. It was really hard on my whole town. But it was really cool to see everyone come together like that.

I guess what's been bugging me the most for awhile- and the reason I needed to blog today- is that since my dad told me about his stupid girlfriend, he's just been shit. He doesn't hang out with us anymore, and every spare second of his time he's with her. I mean...I've only been home a month, and I haven't hardly seen him.

So I asked Diane (the girlfriend) to come over for dinner. And even then, all he did was pay attention to her.



I know I sound like a spoiled child, but it's just shocking how fastwe can be replaced.
So I guess I'm just done trying.

Being home for the summer is making me realize how much I've missed while being gone.

Friends are hanging out without me and making plans and talking about people and things I don't understand. I know it's not their fault, but it's annoying. I'm not used to being left out of things like this.

And it doesn't help that being left out is one of my biggest issues. FFFFFFF!!!!

I feel bad for being sort of a bitch, but I'm just used to being involved more. I just wasn't expecting my friends to go on as well without me, cuz it was hard for me to leave them. I thought it would be harder for them to deal with me being gone.

What college has taught me!

For the past month or so I've been writing down what living in a co-ed college dorm has taught me about life.

There's so much that I want to say, but I can't quite come up with the words to say it. So here's what I can manage to scrounge up out of all of my feelings. <3

It's okay to be a virgin.

It's okay to not know everything about yourself.
It's perfectly fine to be the only one not drinking.

It's okay to be silly and roll down the hall corridor laughing like idiots.

It's more than okay to cry; in fact it's sometimes encouraged and helps more than anything.

9 months can really change a person.

Do NOT forget to keep in contact with your at home friends. They miss you just as much as you miss them.

The little quirks about you that you cried to hide through high school are what makes you you. 

Don't hide them! You'll realize how much you've been missing once you do!

You will push your limits and morals; but don't go past them.

Your life story is never as bad as someone else's. 

Always keep an open mind. You don't know who's listening.

You will never again take your own bathroom for granted. No matter how small it is!

You'll realize how much you love and miss your family when you don't see them every day.

No matter how big the fight was or how many harsh words were shared, by simply saying "I'm sorry" you can fix almost anything.

Again, this isn't very much wisdom that I can share, but it's what I learned. The people I've met in college have all made an impact on my life. Good or bad. No matter how excited you are to be rid of all of them at the end of the year, you'll miss the sounds and smells. You'll miss hearing people screaming and laughing as they run down the hall (although when they do it while you're studying, I can understand if you say you wont miss them. xD). You'll miss your roommate no matter how many issues you had between the two of you.

And most of all, the friends and memories you made in those 9 months will last forever. Keep in contact with them, you never know where they or you will end up.

Cosplay

Cosplay for those of you who don't know what it is, is when fans of (most commonly) anime/manga/video game characters, dress up as those characters and get together with other cosplayers and just geek out.

I've been cosplaying since 2007.

I'm not very good at all, but it's just something I liked to do, and also enjoyed keeping from my small town friends, because it's looked down upon sometimes. But I did it with one of my best friends who went to a neighboring school of mine.

But me and that friend are no longer friends unfortunately. Stupid stuff that just wasn't needed, so she broke off our friendship, whatever.

But since me and her no longer have this huge thing in common, and I'm in college and growing up, and have interests in things bigger than just myself. So I think I'm done cosplaying. D:

I need to save up money for traveling and helping little Kenyan babies and college!!! D:

So I think I'm going to start sorting through all my cosplay and manga and anime merch when I get home next week and sell them on the interwebs. :/

Sad. But life goes on. So if any of my faithful followers have any interests in buying my shit, lemme know! :D

And animal abuse is cruel, and I want to personally take a cheese grater to anyone who hurts animals. (especially those who are part of the group of people who raise or slaughter the animals for our food) Think of a better damn way to raise them and kill them. 

And I'm almost done with my freshman year of college. :D

Harry Potter Challenge

I didn't feel like doing a photo challenge on facebook, so I'll just do one here!

Day 1 - Your favorite book

            The Order of the Phoenix! Which is surprising I'm sure, most people don't like that one. But I LOVED it the first time I read it! I think I loved it so much because it's when it starts getting scary and serious. And I love seeing how JK could find ways to sneak in comedic relief. lol. Did I mentioned I read that entire book in a day? ^^'

Day 2 - Your favorite movie

            Oh geeze. Hmm...I really love the first one, you can't really get it any more precious. But I also really love the Goblet of Fire. That one's just so exciting! I can't really decide!! lol

Day 3 - Is there any of the film adaptations that have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?

            OMG! I can't even list everything. I know that you can't add everything, but I think some of the things they've left out are just ridiculous!! Lets see...They never added Winky, or all of the tasks in the Triwizard Tournament. And in this latest movie, they didn't mention anything about not saying Voldemort's name as his way of tracking (at least not yet), or mentioning HOW on earth Harry acquired the mirror that Sirius left him, or what the devil it's for. I'm just picky. lol

Day 4 - Least favorite female character and why

             Oh my god, I effing HATE Umbridge. LITERALLY the most horrible person ever invented. I don't know how they all dealt with her. I'd honestly rip her eyes out and feed them to her damn cat plates or something. I hate every single thing there is about her to hate. jaslkfjdslkjgsd!

Day 5 - Favorite male character and why

            Hahaha, well...I don't want to be cliche` and say Harry, although he's really really up there in my favorites. But I'm going to have to say......ahh!.....I'm going to go and say it's a tie between the twins (because they're basically the same person, don't try and argue) and Lupin. <3

Day 6 - What house would you want to be in

            ...well, honestly, I'd probably be in Hufflepuff. I know they're always made fun of as the "left overs" because I used to say the same thing. But they're always the loyal and trustworthy ones. I'm not as adventurous as Gryffendore's, nor am I as smart as Ravenclaw's. I know, you all might THINK I'm brilliant? But I'm actually not. lol. And I like to think that I don't belong in Slytherin.

Day 7 - Favorite female character and why

            Hermioneeeee!!! <3 <3 <3 I know that's cliche`, but I've always admired her. She's not afraid to speak her mind and be herself- even if people exclude her after. And she's hilarious and sarcastic and a slight bitch. <3

Day 8 - What do you think would be your favorite lesson?

           Like favorite class? Oh god, flying class. I'd kill to be able to fly.

Day 9 - Least favorite male character

          Either Lockhart or...Fudge. They're both stupid and full of themselves.

Day 10 - Horcruxes or Hallows

          Well...I'm not really afraid of dieing, and both of these due with death and avoiding it. So...I guess Hallows? Because they're cooler and not as painful I'd imagine.

Day 11 - What character would you say you are most like?

          Uhhhhh.....I want to say...Mrs Weasley? She's all mother-like and caring and always willing to put others before herself. But she is NOT afraid to protect the ones she holds dear. "Not my daughter, you bitch!" Anyone who knows me, will totally agree. lol.

Day 12 - Favorite ship

Day 13 - Least favorite movie

          I'm really not a fan of the 2nd one honestly, I'm not sure why. I just don't like it as much.

Day 14 - Team Voldemort or Team Harry

           Team Harry! Anyone who wants to kill those who are different is not a good person in my book!

Day 15 - Who would be your best friends at Hogwarts (Three Only)

           Oh gosh.....I LOVE everything about Harry, because of his attitude and sarcasm, so he would be top. And probably the twins. xD I love humor and tricks. That's how I was raised.

Day 16 - Who is your favorite Death Eater?

            Ummm....um um um....Bellatrix? Ooh! Or Snape...Nope, Bellatrix. Even though she's evil and horrible, she's amazing. <3

Day 17 - Are you excited about the Deathly Hallows movies or scared they won’t do the book justice?

             fjdlkfjsdljsfd!!! Even if the last one ends up being horrible, it's still part of Harry Potter. And regardless, it'll be nice to own all of them once it's done. Although, at the same time, I wouldn't mind if they held off on releasing it- because that'll mean it's actually over. D:

Day 21 - Out of all the characters that died, if you could bring one back, who would it be?

              FRED! I cried SO hard when he died! And I'm going to be a huge ball of weeping mucus when he dies in the movies.

Day 22 - Harry Potter or Twilight

             .............you're joking, right?

Day 23 - Any part of the books or movies that makes you cry?

             Fred's death REALLLY got me. And Dobby's death. Really when any of the characters cry, I just get teary eyed.

Day 24 - Any particular scene you wished would have been put in the movie, but wasn’t?

           So many scenes actually. But...I wish they had put when the Dursly's left Harry in the final book.

Day 25 - Nineteen years later. Are you happy how it turned out, or do you wish something was different, ie Neville married Luna

           I don't mind it honestly. I do wish that they had brought in more of the characters.

Day 26 - If you would be able to work one spell without a wand what would it be?

          Not sure how to answer this question exactly. But, um...I guess...stupify would be nifty. (:

         SO MUCH YES!

Day 30 - What affect has Harry Potter made on your life and how much does it mean to you?

         Well, other than the fact that my entire life revolves around Harry Potter like a child. lol. And half of my vocabulary is derived from Harry Potter. And my whole room is decked out in HP stuff. But everything that Harry Potter represents is magical and true to me. Friendship and loyalty are above most things. Trust is important. 5 Risks

The other day me and some of my friends were having a Girly day and just doing a bunch of fun stuff. And someone mentioned that statistically women only make 5 major risks in their life. And that got me thinking that I've been playing it safe my whole life.

I'm very structured and OCD. I like to have things in alphabetical order, organized, set up weeks in advance, and have multiple options for even the smallest plans.

Basically I'm an old lady in a 19 year old woman's body.

While I don't see myself running off and getting married, piercing any random body parts, or packing up and fleeing the country any time soon, it got me thinking that I need to let my hair down more.

Every plan that I have, whether it be about travel, tattoos, school, my future, or even plans for the following weekend- everything is planned out and have been decided with many pro and con lists. 

I can't ever just up and go with something. I have to have things packed, phone numbers and dates written down, and make sure everything is set and ready. 

So my plan from now on is to just do.

Just do what feels right.

Just do something unexpected.

Just do something that I've been dreaming of doing for years, but I've put off because it's not practical.

I mean hell! The crazies thing I've done recently is dye my hair! While it was a great decision, I had to sit and think about the pros and cons of it. If I got a summer job, would they like it? How much would my dad hate it? How much would my mom love it? Will it look horrible on me? 

And that was just hair, people!

So from now on, if someone says "Hey, lets go to Corvallis. Never mind the fact that it's 10:30 at night and we're low on gas!" You'd best believe that I'll be in that car right beside them! If someone suggest going to the mall and buying the most random thing ever, I'm not going to sit and think about how I should be saving the money, I'll just think of where in my room it's going to go. 

While I don't think I'll change drastically, I think I'm going to take this 5 risk thing into consideration this summer and have fun. I'm almost 20, and the most crazy thing I've done is go to Japan for a month by myself. And I've learned SO much from that trip, about me, about the culture, and about how I'll be when I'm older dealing with situations bigger than high school.

Just, don't expect toooooo much from me quite yet. lol.

My new plan. (:

Our school just got a super legit awesome supermegaawesomefoxyhawt gym on campus. :D And my friends finally got me to go out and start working out. 

But with me, I'm stubborn as fuuuuuu, so I have to be persuaded. And since I'm a big kid now, I figured I should reward mySELF!

So, my plan is that every day I work out, I put a dollar toward my travel funds. (: 

(Plus I'll just add in money randomly if I get some from family or whatever. lol)

But yay! So far I have $52!!

...oh my god, I have so many more days of pain ahead of me.

Efff.

Oh geeze!

Holy crap, I haven't blogged in awhile! Haha! Sorry, guys!

Well, lets see. 

As of now my list of places to visit has expanded exponentially. Haha. I'm sure that's a big surprise. 

At first, I never really had much of an interest in going to Africa (with the exception of Egypt and Jordan). I think just the fact that Africa is fairly dangerous and there's always a risk of disease is what kept me away from the thought. However!!! I caught word of a community service trip to travel to Africa in December! And of course I looked into it. Haha. It's from December 9th to December 21st (something like that), and you get to help kids with addicted parents! Which is right up my alley. Hahaha. It's in Cape Verde! And I'm at the point where I don't much care if my parents say yes or no. lol. It's really just the money issue that's making me think twice about it. If I can get $1000 by June 30th, I think I can do it. (: I hope!! (Unfortunately that will mean no more tattoos for the time being. :/)

Also, I've been looking into moving over seas. You know me, I'm just obsessed with travel. Hahahahaha.

Hmm...Oh!!! Most important!! I got a post card from my love Heather!!! In Australia~ I was so excited!!

Look at all that writing! :D I'm so excited! I wrote her back immediately! And she just sent me a comment on facebook informing me that she received it and is writing back soon. :D :D :D

Oh gosh!!! This is the most recent news! So, next year me and some of my friends...

..Kara, me, Chloe, and Rachael are all living together next year! But, Rachael recently told us that she's moving to California after fall term to be with her (soon to be) husband. D: So we wouldn't be able to keep up the rent for a 4 bedroom house next year. BUT! Then comes the greatest news of all existence!! Our friend Zander (who lives right across from me in the dorms) decided that he wanted to stay here at Western for another year (he thought he was going to transfer) and asked us if we had room! HUZZAH!

We couldn't have lucked out better with him! He's clean, smells good, doesn't have a whole lot of stuff, and is practical with money and stuff. :D I'm so excited for next year!!!

Also, my friend drama from people back home has died off. Thank god. One of them just stopped talking to me after we had finally gone back to normal. Whatever, go ahead and be immature. I don't need negativity in my life like that. And my other friend and I made up and she understands that I don't agree with a lot of the things she does, and that we have differences and what-not. So we both got some things off our chests and now we're close again. (:
