Religion?

This isn't one of those "Blah, convert to my religion or you're damned!" type of things. lol. I'm not a big practice religion person. lol. I just go to church every once and a while.

One thing I don't understand is why Christians hate Catholics so much and why Catholics hate Christians so much?

I was sort of kind of raised Christian- it was more like we just went to church on the bigger holidays or I'd go sometimes with my friend Melissa.

But then I started going to a Catholic church when I was a Junior in High School. And as far as I'm aware...

THEY'RE BOTH THE SAME!

I may be pissing off a lot of people here, but I just don't get it? 

• Both religions believe in the Trinity (Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit).
• Both believe that Jesus was crucified and died for our sins.
• Both believe the same ideas- like 
• No stealing
• No killing
• Acceptance and love for everyone (which I see gets ignored a lot of the time)
• To worship the Trinity
• And to overall be a good person

So far, I've concluded that the only big differences are that Catholics are more ritualistic and Christians are a bit more laid back. 

I'm sure I'm going to piss a lot of people off with this next statement...

But don't all religions pretty much say to do the same thing, and act the same way? 

•  They all say to worship their God/Goddess/Deity.
• Accept others for who they are
• Don't kill anyone
• And be a good person

I just don't get why people hate each other so much over religions. The way I see it is that all religions are different and all religions are very similar. They people you worship are different and their story is somewhat different. But all the Gods/Goddesses/whatever else there is. 

But whatever. I just wish people were more accepting and were willing to learn about the other religions before judging them.
I guess I'm just coming as a history major here and not wanting more stupid wars and hate crimes and what-not. lol.
